Ray C. (Doc) Ameen 2008
Sad news Dr. Ray Ameen passed away last Sat. night. He was in the hospital for some minor surgery and had heart failure. There will be a service in Houston, Sat. Nov. 1, Forest Park Cemetary, 12800 Westheimer @ Eldridge.
APS 2009 Winter Show:

The APS Winter show will be held 20 – 22 Feb in Arlington, Tx.

Bob Lamb and Alan Lipkin have so far volunteered to help at the booth. We need volunteers to staff the NSDA booth and Stamps-in-your-Attic booth. 5 or 6 more volunteers would be nice. Please email the admin assistant if you’re interested in helping.

Filatelic Fiesta in San Jose, Ca January 09:

Dick has received a request from Filatelic Fiesta to have the NSDA run the
“Stamps-In-Your-Attic” table at their show in January 2009. They will provide booth space and a separate NSDA booth free,

Donations:

In July, the NSDA donated monetary funds to the following organizations for their Youth
Programs:
Northwest Michigan Coin/Stamp Club
St Louis Expo Youth Room
Youth Stamp Collectors, Mountlake Terrace, Wa.
ID cards/Badges for 2009:

The board has decided to go with an ID badge that can be worn or clipped on for year 2009 and beyond. If you would like your picture on the badge, please submit a digital photo to the admin assistant. Also, starting in 2009 all members will be assigned a membership number that will be yours until you are no longer a member. Numbers 1 thru 15 will be assigned to original board members. After that all numbers will be assigned randomly by
pulling names from a hat. If you know the names of the 1st members of the NSDA please email that information to Gail.
In preparation for our planned new website, we are seeking a current picture from each member. Here is a chance for your clients to see you around the world as part of your membership. Please send your picture to the NSDA office. We can make them the right size.
Color is preferred.

NSDA bags:

The “new” paper bags are here. NSDA plans on shipping several boxes (1000 ea) to each board member and area reps so that you can give them out at the various shows. Please let Gail know if your address has changed.
We have have NSDA plastic bags in a slightly larger size than the previous ones.
Contact your local area representative for bags. Free to all members.
We now can pay our dues via Pay Pal thanks to good work by our Treasurer, Michael Ball.

We have established an ongoing banner ad linking to the NSDA website at stampshows.com on their homepage.
The NSDA is now offering a special category award to Club Stamp Shows, which have exhibits and a minimum of 5 NSDA dealers in the show bourse. The award has been named the "NSDA People's Choice Award" and will be provided to the club free of charge. Please contact Gail Giordano or President:Dick Keiser for more information.
